HOME IS WHERE THE WEIRD IS

My Role - DIRECTOR | EDITOR | VFX | CINEMAT

Raphael, also known as Jazz June, approached me again for a spontaneous music video of "Home is Where the Weird Is." Having had such a fun time working together on "Cappers Anonymous," it was a pleasure to collaborate with him once more. This time, he said, "I have a song", and I replied, "I have a camera".

I embraced the quirky and eccentric vibes of the track to create an engaging and lively edit. Working with Jazz June is always a great experience, and together we crafted another unique and memorable music video.

BOMBAY BOUNCE

My Role - DIRECTOR | 2nd DOP | EDITOR | VISUAL EFFECTS ARTIST

For my directorial debut in a music video, I approached Quest with the vision of creating something unprecedented for India. Inspired by the track "Bombay Bounce," my goal was to embody the essence of the city in a unique way. Collaborating with my team—Manas Ajmera, Achman Dev Rattan, and Arya Singh—we embarked on the project. Opting for a guerrilla-style shoot, we aimed to capture the raw feel of the music video.

Over the course of four days in Mumbai, we traversed iconic locations, bouncing across the city to encapsulate the vibrancy of "Bombay Bounce." The result is evident in the video, showcasing the energy and spirit of Mumbai. The song, part of the album "Dushman," challenges the boundaries of the Indian hip-hop scene.

Quest and Tienas, with their creativity and versatility, inspired me to fulfill my promise. Leveraging my VFX skills, I crafted "Bombay Bounce" and edited a cohesive music video that complements the song seamlessly.

BOL BALA

My Role - ASST. PRODUCER

As the assistant producer for the music video, my responsibilities included procuring props, managing billing calculations, coordinating delivery and transportation. Beyond aiding in on-set production, my key involvement with the director, crucial in the dynamic nature of music video production, provided significant learning experiences. The video features the artist 100RBH from the prominent Indian rap group, Gully Gang, making my participation particularly insightful. This opportunity also led to connecting with Quest, the lead producer of the project "Bol Bala," and the artist behind "Bombay Bounce."

IRAN

My Role - VFX & COLOR GRADE

For Sikander Kahlon's "Iran" music video directed by my friend and Music Video Director Achman Dev Rattan, I contributed by handling VFX, effects/transitions, and title screens. Employing motion design and leveraging After Effects tools, I implemented various effects throughout the video. A notable visual motif we experimented with was the integration of AI, transitioning from live action to an AI version of the shot. Interestingly, we observed a subsequent increase in the use of AI in music videos within the Indian music scene after creating this video.

INFINITE WORLDS

My Role - 3D ANIMATOR / VISUALIZER

For "Infinite Worlds" by Hashbass & Warren Mendonsa, directed by Meghan Katti (also known for "Bol Bala"), I was approached to create looping scenes that embodied the concept of infinite worlds implied by the track's title. I 3D modeled the warehouse location with looping rings through which the camera navigates. There are three distinct loops in the video, each requiring different animations. Meghan desired escalating chaos with each loop, manipulating both the visuals and the speed of the camera's passage. In line with his direction, Meghan added effects to enhance the cohesiveness and trippy aesthetic of the video.

DYE MY HAIR

My Role - VFX ARTIST

In the music video "Dye My Hair," directed by my peer Shrey, I took on the responsibility of compositing and adding VFX. Tasks such as incorporating gun muzzle flashes, which are prevalent throughout the video, were part of my contributions to enhance the visual elements.

West Side Boys - Fan Made

My Role - DOP | EDITOR | VFX | COLOR GRADE

Amidst my time in film school during the lockdown, my fellow filmmakers and I ventured into the city. Equipped with my camera, I aimed to capture the essence of Mumbai and create an experimental mood vlog. The concept was simple—three friends traversing South Mumbai in the most Mumbai way possible, using the locals. The entire shoot was spontaneous and none of the street videography shots were staged. In the shots where I'm present, I took on the role of cinematographer alongside my friends, and I also handled the editing and color grading of the video. It was a spontaneous and enjoyable project shot purely for the joy of filmmaking.

BOMBAY CITY

My Role - CO-DIRECTOR | CO-DOP | VFX | COLOR GRADE

The music video "Bombay City" holds a special place in my heart as it marks my initial foray into music video production. Collaborating with my close friend and talented Music Video Director, Achman Dev Rattan, during our college days, we embarked on this project for a mutual friend artist. As novices in the field, we took on various production roles, assisted by a dedicated group of 5-7 friends who pitched in as extras and helpers. Co-directing alongside Achman, I also co-cinematographed the video with Soummitra Kolap, contributing to the collective effort that made this project a memorable and rewarding experience. I also handled VFX and color grading for the music video. My involvement extended to ensuring a visually compelling and polished final product.
